Do You Love to Gossip? Learn How to Stop It

GossipAuthor – Nelson Berry

Don’t you just love to gossip? For some reason it is very interesting and engaging to talk about other people’s lives. But then you also know that gossip is entirely wrong. It is completely unproductive and destructive. A lot of relationships have been severed just because of rumors.

How do you stop yourself from gossiping? Consider the following tips:

1. Keep yourself busy. Gossip often happens when you have nothing else better to do. You grab the mobile phone and talk about your other friends with someone. You go online and chat.

One of the best ways therefore to minimize being involved in rumors is to be very productive. When you have a lot of things to do, you won’t have more time for senseless things. Moreover, these activities can occupy your mind.

2. Consider your self-interests first. Before you think of others, think about yourself. Usually, you gossip about others simply because you couldn’t find something interesting about your own life. Perhaps it’s high time you pursue a hobby, take up a sport, or go back to school. Travel or spend more time doing missions and volunteer work. These activities boost self-awareness and self-esteem. Most of all, they inspire you to find more good things in life.

3. Cut back on your sources of gossip. Stop reading your friends’ blogs, watching television (more…)

How to Build a Strong Personality

PersonalityGuest author Niki Alex

Is it difficult for you to stand out in a crowd? Are people paying attention to you when you’re expressing your opinion at work or with your friends? You probably have been wondered why some people get more attention than others. It might be because of social status. It could be because of looks. It may be just a matter of how much money you have.

I honestly believe that none of this matters as much as having a strong personality. Don’t get me wrong, people do get a lot of attention if they look totally beautiful, have tons of money and come from a powerful family. But there are many examples of people who have had all of these assets and lived a miserable life. So, what is the factor that can transform a miserable person into a happy balanced one?

The answer is personality.

Personality is the foundation of success and happiness. It is the element some people have which can make them stand out in a crowd no matter if they have a dollar in their pocket or not. I’m sure you are asking yourself if it is possible for you to obtain this element and turn your life around. (more…)

Developing a Strong Personality – Top Personality Boosting Tips!

PersonalityGuest author Ricky D.

You might have heard about people not being accepted for a job or an aspiring actor not being approved to play a critical role because of lack of personality. Personality is one of the largest attributes that some people become deficient of that’s why their personal and professional spheres are negatively impacted. The good news is that there are strategies you can employ in developing a strong personality.

Lack of personality means not believing in your abilities and yourself, thus you become afraid of facing new challenges or you become disheartened to perform your best when you start noticing that people are looking at you.

The problem of not having a strong personality is that it affects your whole character unconstructively. Instead of thinking that pain is unavoidable in this life, you should begin to recognize that pain is optional. It’s your choice of actions, words, and how you carry yourself around people that let them determine how strong your personality is. (more…)

Marketing Yourself, Part 4 – Improve Your Message

Your marketing message

(Note: This is Part 4 of a four-part series on Marketing Yourself)

Communicate your verbal message with care

People not only judge you by how you look but also by what you say and how you say it. How you talk about yourself, your work, your boss or even your competition sends a message about you. If you aren’t careful, your verbal communication can undo any other self-marketing efforts you may have made.

What kind of message are you communicating?

When you are around others, what kind of message do you bring to them? Is it positive or negative? Are you someone who continually complains about life, rarely having anything good to say? Do people like to have you around or do they cringe when they see you coming? Are you the storm cloud that goes around raining on everyone’s parade or are you the type of person that spreads cheer and sunshine? How you communicate is critical to building a positive reputation.

How you judge others will be how others judge you

We read a verse in the Bible that says, “Judge not that ye be not judged.” This is good advice for human relations too! Whenever you are in the process of judging others it gives other people a clue of how to judge you. (more…)
