Daily Motivation: An Ongoing Practice

MotivatoinAuthor – Shauna Arthurs

Whether you plan to climb Mount Everest, lose 10 pounds or break a new sales record, your journey to your next goal will contain moments – maybe days – where you lack motivation. Motivation is not the same as inspiration, which is what caused you to create and commit to the goal in the first place. Motivation is the driving force that keeps you going, long after the initial excitement of the decision has passed, and when the pain or monotony of the daily grind of progressing towards accomplishment seems to outweigh the finish line in the distance.

Many a goal has been laid aside by people who lost their sense of commitment when it came to performing the day-to-day tasks involved in reaching the goal. Consistency is not easy; it IS, however, what makes the difference between those who reach their goals and those who don’t. With this in mind, we have put together the following list of suggestions to help build your consistency and commitment muscles, which will keep you motivated to reach your goals and pursue your dreams!

* Change Your Mind: This is another way of saying JUST DO IT. Do whatever it takes to give yourself the perspective you had when you began your quest. Look around you at others who do not have what you want, and remind yourself how you never want to be that way. (more…)

How Decisions Shape Your Destiny

DestinyAuthor: Saleem Rana

The decisions you have made have shaped your destiny. Some have turned out well, some poorly, and the result of all those decisions is who you are today.

Decisions are made when you make a choice and cut yourself off from any other possibility. It is when you choose to move in one direction and not in any other possible direction. It is the cut-off point. It is a commitment to one particular action.

The word “decision” comes from the Latin roots “de” which means “from” and “caedere” which means “cut off.” Thus, you cut-off from any other possibility.

Each decision creates a selection of actions which then produce results. (more…)

11 Commandments of a Jedi Master

jediAuthor: Jim Francis

Dream Big. All the millionaires I interview have big dreams. They believe that they are worth more than a 9-to-5 job and that there is more to life than working forty (or more) hours a week for forty years only to take a forty percent pay cut once they’ve reach retirement. These big dreamers are also prepared to risk money and time ( reasonable risk) and just go for it. A number of them have even risked the farm a few times. Now don’t get me wrong; I’m not asking you to do this, and I’m not asking you to put all your eggs in one basket and hope. However, you may consider taking a few of those hard-earned bucks and trying something new, maybe just part-time at first. Try building a small business, optioning a stock, or flipping some real estate for cash. You never know, I might be interviewing you next!

Get Out of your Comfort Zone. We all operate within a comfort zone, a specific way of living that we have become used to over time. Unfortunately, these comfort zones often hold us back from what we really want. For years, I believed I was worth about $50,000 a year, and during this time, $50,000 is what I was paid. I didn’t know any better, so I kept working for another person and making less than I deserved. Then, I experienced an awakening and came to believe I was worth $250K a year. I quit my job and started my own business. (more…)

The Power of Subconscious Mind: Let It Take Over You

subconsciousAuthor – Asim Bawany

“We must realize that the subconscious mind is the law of action and always expresses what the conscious mind has impressed on it. What we regularly entertain in our mind creates a conception of self. What we conceive ourselves to be, we become.” – Grace Speare

“The unconscious mind of man sees correctly even when conscious reason is blind and impotent.” – Carl Jung

“Every person is the creation of himself, the image of his own thinking and believing. As individuals think and believe, so they are.” – Claude M. Bristol

The human mind is more profound than what we have imagined. The power of subconscious mind can bring us to the equilibrium that we have envisioned. Do you ever wonder how unfair life is to some and how impossibly good life is to others? (more…)

Discover How to Identify Your Core Desires

DesiresAuthor – Jack M. Zufelt

NO SENSE OF OBLIGATION

Core Desires aren’t objectives imposed on you by others. They aren’t “shoulds” or “ought-tos.” Core Desires are those things you want with all your heart. They are deep, intense, and powerful longings. They are persistent, ever- demanding, heartfelt hungers or yearnings that pierce you to the very core. One easy way to identify them is that they are always tied to a strong emotion in your heart- which is the reason anything in your life gets done at a high level of success, satisfaction, and fun. The Conquering Force is the only force strong enough to sustain the persistent effort and focus necessary to realize your Core Desires.

However, people often do things because they feel they have to, ought to, or should, not because they truly want to. It could be because they feel a duty or obligation or because they fear punishment, ostracism, or disapproval.

Your life is too precious, and your sojourn here on earth too short, to waste your time and effort on things that are not rewarding and fulfilling. Yes, at times you must “do your duty” with family, friends, employers, and country-but duty is pleasure when it aligns with desire. (more…)

8 Errors in Judgement Most People Make – Tips on How to Avoid Mistakes

mistakesAuthor – Laurence Mason

Upon flipping a coin ten times and having ten successive “heads” as an outcome, is heads or tails more likely on the eleventh toss? Surely it’s tails? Wrong! It is a 50/50 chance of course! Every time!

You may have fallen into this trap before – the “Gambler’s Fallacy” – where there is a tendency to think that future probabilities are influenced by past events. It’s just one example of cognitive slip ups earthlings often make. Judgement errors happen to everyone regardless of age, gender, intelligence or education. The brain is sifting through many hundreds of subconscious processes even if we are only concentrating on one thing at a time. Misplaced judgement is a fundamental principle behind the ideas of motivation and success. I have designed this post more for entertainment as it is only a quick skim, but all the topics and ideas behind them, are as solid as concrete.

1. Self fulfilling prophecy.

This is a prediction which causes itself to become real by engaging in patterns of thought that get results from the confirmation of existing ideas. This goes back thousands of years. Roman legends for example: Romulus and Remus (the founders of Rome) were placed in a basket as infants, and thrown in the river Tiber after their uncle feared they would overthrow and kill him. Romulus and Remus were rescued by a she-wolf and eventually discovered their identity as teenagers, leading them to kill their Uncle and fulfil the prophecy. (more…)
